Nueva Andalucia

Residential Properties For Rent

NUEVA ANDALUCIA

In 1962 the renowned architect José Banús Mas bought a piece of land west of Marbella stretching for several kilometers up to San Pedro de Alcántara. Historically the area was mainly used for bull breeding and bull fighting but the architect from Madrid had other plans and transformed it into an attractive coastal area called Nueva Andalucia.

At the waterfront he designed the posh harbor Puerto Banús, to which he gave his name. Further up inland he constructed large residential estates scattered with small commercial centers and restaurants all the way to the main central highway AP-7 in the north.

If Puerto Banús is the fancy club where you go to see and be seen, then Nueva Andalucía is its chill-out lounge. The leafy streets of the residential areas ooze lush tranquility while being supported by the breathtaking scenery. The whole area is dotted with lakes, back dropped by the imposing La Concha mountain peak and fringed by celebrated golf courses.

Combine the numerous golf opportunities with the tranquil feeling of the pueblo and the excellent choice of villa and townhouse properties with spectacular mountain and sea views and you understand the popularity of this development.

Nueva Andalucia is often referred to as the 'Golf Valley' as it's five (5!!) golf courses Real Club Las Brisas, Los Naranjos, Magna Golf Marbella, Los Arqueros and Aloha Golf Club attract a lot of international golfers.

LIVING IN NUEVA ANDALUCIA

Nueva Andalucia is surprisingly calm and peaceful, even though the Mediterranean beaches and vibrant Marbella are within close proximity. The noise and crowds rarely venture this far inland. Even the hotels are situated as close to Puerto Banús as possible, leaving the rest of the residential estate free to be enjoyed by the locals and holiday home owners.

Tranquility does not equal boring as Nueva Andalucía has excellent amenities including a small shopping centre at Centro Plaza (next to the bull ring) that hosts one of the most popular markets on the Costa del Sol on Saturday mornings.

Make your way up the streets and do your grocery shopping fresh fruits, herbs and veggies, clothes and linen and a wide variety of bags and other seasonal accessories. Finish the morning at one of the sun laden breakfast bars at the top with a smoothie and toast with some smoked salmon and chives.
